GAFI Invites German Companies to Localize Textile Machinery Technology in Egypt
The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) participated in the “Textile Industry Technology Conference," organized by the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce. The conference brought together 18 German companies specializing in innovative, high-quality technologies, products, and services in the field of textile machinery, to showcase the latest German advances and innovations in this sector.

Representatives of the German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (GACIC), the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and the German Mechanical Engineering Industry Association also took part in the forum.
Mr. Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, stressed that the conference reflects a shared belief in the potential of Egyptian industry, particularly the textile sector, which has long been one of the cornerstones of Egypt's economic history. He emphasized that Egypt is working to develop and rebuild the sector to meet modern requirements.

Heiba highlighted that the Egyptian government has placed the textile and ready-made garments sector at the top of its priorities, aiming to position Egypt as a fully integrated, globally competitive, and sustainable textile hub connected to the world economy. He underscored the pivotal role of German companies in manufacturing machinery, partnering in industrial transformation, and launching digital and technological solutions that help achieve the highest levels of quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
Heiba invited German companies to localize textile machinery manufacturing technology in Egypt and to benefit from Egypt's attractive investment environment, shaped by years of reform and numerous investment incentives. Among the most significant incentives, he noted, is the “Golden License," which grants all necessary approvals for investment projects in a single step, along with tax and non-tax investment incentives and diversified investment systems tailored to companies' needs. He also pointed to Egypt's strategic advantage as a leading export platform, connected to more than 1.5 billion consumers through a wide network of trade agreements with Africa, Europe, the United States, and other markets, as well as its strong economic base, skilled labor force, and infrastructure capable of accelerating business growth.

Ms. Kathrin Jennica, representative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, expressed her pleasure at participating in the conference, describing it as an important step toward enhancing the exchange of expertise between Egypt and Germany in the textile industry. She added that Egypt possesses strong fundamentals and promising opportunities for establishing successful partnerships that would contribute to advancing development and shared progress in this vital sector.

The German delegation also showcased their expertise in textile machinery manufacturing and explored opportunities to strengthen new partnerships with Egyptian companies.
