Dr. Mohamed Awad Reviews GAFI Digital Transformation Plans

In implementation of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT), regarding accelerating Digital Transformation and enhancing services provided to investors, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), held a meeting with the staff of the Central Department of IT and Digital Transformation. The meeting was attended by Eng. Sherif Yehia, MIFT Assistant Minister for Development and Digital Transformation Affairs, and Dr. Dahlia El-Hawary, GAFI Deputy CEO, to review the implementation rates of development and Digital Transformation projects.

The meeting emphasized the importance of continuing to develop GAFI technological infrastructure and enhance the efficiency of its electronic platforms and services, in a manner that contributes to simplifying procedures for investors and strengthening the efficiency of the business environment.

Dr. Mohamed Awad further reviewed GAFI efforts during the recent period in the field of Digital Transformation, as well as the progress achieved in improving service quality and simplifying procedures, thereby supporting institutional performance efficiency.

He noted that GAFI attaches strategic priority to the Digital Transformation agenda during the current phase, considering it one of the key pillars for improving the investment climate and facilitating the investor journey. He further emphasized that expanding digital services contributes to accelerating transaction processing and enhancing operational efficiency, thereby strengthening the confidence of both domestic and foreign business communities in Egypt's investment environment, in line with the state's direction toward building an integrated digital government ecosystem.

Dr. Mohamed Awad emphasized the importance of continuing the digitalization of various investment services in a manner that alleviates pressure on Investor Service Centers across and ensures the delivery of more efficient, faster, and transparent services.

These efforts come within the framework of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, MIFT Minister, aimed at accelerating Digital Transformation and enhancing services provided to investors, in a way that contributes to improving the business environment, simplifying procedures, and raising operational efficiency within MIFT and its affiliated entities, in support of the state's efforts to attract more domestic and foreign investments.
