The event continues the initiative’s activities launched in Gharbia Governorate, with the aim of broadening the exporter base, preparing Egyptian companies for export, and enhancing their ability to access global markets.
During the first main session of the round, Dr. Mohamed Awad highlighted GAFI’s role in supporting the investment climate and preparing companies operating in Egypt to meet domestic market needs and export to foreign markets. He noted that GAFI’s role begins even before a company is established, as GAFI promotes investment activities and attracts companies to operate in the Egyptian market. He also highlighted GAFI’s awareness-raising role, which begins with university students by introducing them to entrepreneurship activities and providing free consultations, and continues through the licensing stage and throughout the company’s lifecycle, including the management of its expansion plans.
GAFI CEO also briefed the Port Said business community on GAFI’s latest efforts to facilitate procedures, including the launch of GAFI’s new electronic portal as a unified digital platform that enables investors to easily access investment information and services. This contributes to streamlining the investor journey, facilitating the completion of services, and providing access to investment data, supported by a multilingual chatbot operating around the clock to provide immediate assistance and respond to investors’ inquiries. GAFI has also launched the Investor Support and Complaints & Suggestions Platform as a unified channel for receiving investors’ complaints and ensuring that they are followed up and addressed with transparency and professionalism.
Dr. Mohamed Awad emphasized the importance of Port Said Governorate and its effective role in supporting the Egyptian economy. Accordingly, GAFI attaches particular importance to the governorate and has established a Public Free Zone and an Investor Services Center there. GAFI has also signed a cooperation protocol with Port Said University in the field of training and qualifying the university’s students and graduates to actively participate in Egypt’s investment ecosystem.
