Dr. Mohamed Awad, GAFI CEO, attended, on behalf of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, the graduation ceremony of the 2026 class of the Faculties of Management Technology and Applied Sciences and Arts at the German University in Cairo (GUC). The ceremony was attended by Dr. Maya Morsy, Minister of Social Solidarity; Mr. Florian Hahn, Minister of State at the German Federal Foreign Office; Dr. Ashraf Mansour, Chairman of the GUC Board of Trustees; and Dr. Yasser Hegazy, President of GUC, as well as a delegation from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and members of the German Parliament.
In his address to the graduates, Dr. Mohamed Awad urged them to continue learning, build on the experience and knowledge they had gained during their studies, and leverage their capabilities to support the Egyptian economy and serve society, whether by joining the labor market or establishing their own businesses.
GAFI CEO underscored the important role played by the German University in Cairo in preparing qualified talent for the labor market and transferring and localizing German technology and expertise in Egypt through its education and training programs, as well as through the integrated industrial complex established by the university, which is one of the largest complexes capable of linking education and scientific research with the needs of industry.
He also commended the university’s role in strengthening Egyptian-German relations, noting that the German University in Cairo and the German International University in the New Administrative Capital rank first and second, respectively, among German universities outside Germany in terms of the number of graduates, reflecting the strength of educational and academic ties between the two countries.
