Dr. Mohamed Awad:
- Egypt Offers Competitive Advantages and Diverse Investment Opportunities in Industry, Renewable Energy, and Logistics.
In line with the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT Minister), to promote investment opportunities in Egypt, Dr. Mohamed Awad, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI CEO), participated in the “Mediterranean 2030: Investments, Stability, Development” Forum in Palermo, Italy, at the invitation of Federmanager, an organization representing approximately 180,000 CEOs and senior executives of Italian companies.
Dr. Mohamed Awad affirmed that Egypt represents an attractive investment destination and an important economic partner for Mediterranean countries. He highlighted opportunities for cooperation with Italy in industry, renewable energy, food industry, and logistics, in addition to the Ro-Ro maritime transport route connecting Damietta Port with the Port of Trieste, which supports trade between the two countries.
He also highlighted the government's efforts to improve the investment climate and the incentives and facilitation measures offered to investors, as well as GAFI’s role in supporting projects at every stage, from establishment and operation to expansion.
He underscored the importance of strengthening economic partnerships and leveraging Egypt’s strategic location and free trade agreements, which provide access to regional and international markets. These advantages support the establishment of joint production projects and contribute to increasing investment and trade exchange.
Dr. Mohamed Awad invited Italian companies and the business community across Mediterranean countries to explore the investment opportunities available in Egypt, learn about the incentives on offer, and consider establishing joint projects in sectors of mutual interest.
