Following the Meetings of Egyptian – Tunisian Higher Committee in Tunisia
The Prime Minister and his Tunisian counterpart witness the signing ceremony of a number of documents
in several fields, which serve bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
In conclusion of presiding over the work of the Egyptian – Tunisian Higher Committee, Prime Minister Dr.
Mostafa Madbouly and his Tunisian counterpart Ms. Najla Bouden witnessed the signing ceremony of a
number of documents that serve bilateral cooperation between the two countries at the government building
in Kasbah city in the Tunisian capital today.
The official spokesman for the Council of Ministers Ambassador Nader Saad stated that a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) was signed to exchange experiences in the field of international cooperation between
the two governments. The MoU was signed by Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat,
on the Egyptian side, and Minister of Economy and Planning Mr. Samir Saied on the Tunisian side.
An MoU for technical and scientific cooperation in the field of meteorology and climate was also signed
between the Egyptian Meteorological Authority and the National Institute of Meteorology in Tunisia. The
signature was put by Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, on the Egyptian side, and
Minister of Transport Mr. Rabie Al-Majidi, on the Tunisian side.
Ambassador Nader Saad added that an MoU was also signed for joint cooperation in the field of
advancement of women, family, and the elderly. The MoU was signed by Minister of International
Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat, on the Egyptian side, and on the Tunisian side, Minister of Family,
Women, Children and the Elderly Ms. Amel Belhaj Moussa.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed in the field of participation in international exhibitions
and markets between the two countries. It was signed by the Egyptian side, Minister of International
Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat and by the Tunisian side, Minister of Trade and Export Development
Ms. Fadila Al-Rabihi bin Hamza.
The documents signed included a memorandum of understanding and its implementation program between
Export Promotion Center in Egypt and Exports promotion center of Tunisia (CEPEX), which was signed
Minister of International Cooperation Dr. Rania Al-Mashat and Minister of Trade and Export Development
Mrs. Fadela Rabihi Ben Hamza.
A framework agreement in the field of education and scientific research was also signed between the two
governments. The said agreement was signed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education
and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Health from the Egyptian side, and Moncef Boukather,
Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research from the Tunisian side.
Moreover, the official spokesperson for the Council of Ministers stated that a memorandum of
understanding for cooperation in the field of building and construction was signed between the Ministry of
Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities in Egypt and the Ministry of Equipment, Housing and
Infrastructure of the Republic of Tunisia. The MoU was signed by Dr. Assem El-Gazzar, Minister of
Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities from the Egyptian side, and Mrs. Sarah Al-Zaafarani AlZanzari, Minister of Equipment and Housing from the Tunisian side.
MoU for agricultural cooperation was also signed between the two countries. From the Egyptian side, Mr.
Sayed El Kosayer, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation signed the MoU, and Mr. Mahmoud Elies
Hamza, Minister of Agriculture, Water Resources and Fishing signed it from the Tunisian side.
The signed documents included MoU about the cooperation in the fields of post and information and
communication technology. The said MoU was signed by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications
and Information Technology from the Egyptian side, and Nizar Ben Neji, Minister of Communication
Technologies, from the Tunisian side.
In addition, MoU was signed between the Financial Regulatory Authority in Egypt and the Financial Market
Council of the Republic of Tunisia. The aforementioned MoU was signed by Dr. Mohamed Omran,
Chairman of the Financial Regulatory Authority from the Egyptian side, and by Mr. Saleh Al-Sayel, Head
of the Financial Market Council from the Tunisian side.
Furthermore, MoU was signed between the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) in
Egypt and Foreign Investment Promotion Agency (FIPA) in Tunisia, to enable the investment cooperation.
Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, GAFI CEO signed the MoU from the Egyptian side, and Mr.
Abdelbasset Ghanmi, the general manger of FIPA signed it from the Tunisian side.
At the conclusion of this signing ceremony, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt, and Mrs.
Najla Bouden, Prime Minister of Tunisia, signed the minutes of the meetings of the 17th session of the
Egyptian-Tunisian Joint Higher Committee.
