GAFI CEO Discusses Strengthening Investment Relations Between Egypt and UK

 Over the course of two days, Mr. Hossam Heiba, CEO of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), participated in Egypt-UK Investment Forum in London to present key investment opportunities to British companies interested in investing in Egypt.

 

The Forum, hosted by HSBC, the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce, and UK Export Finance (UKEF), aimed to enhance economic cooperation between the two countries. 

 

Mr. Heiba engaged with British investors, government officials, and industry leaders, highlighting Egypt's competitive advantages and high-return sectors. The Forum was attended by over 170 British companies from various fields interested in investing in the Egyptian economy and exporting to Africa.

 

On the sidelines of the Forum, Mr. Heiba met with companies operating in the steel, logistics, construction materials, aircraft manufacturing, water solutions, and communications sectors to explore partnership opportunities with private Egyptian institutions. He also met with representatives of the Commonwealth Enterprise and Investment Council (CWEIC) to discuss establishing multinational partnerships. 

 

Mr. Heiba also attended a business dinner hosted by Standard Bank of South Africa to discuss ways for banking institutions to support investment partnerships in Africa.

 

In addition, Mr. Heiba met with representatives of the African Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (AVCA) to discuss cooperation in attracting private equity funds interested in investing in Africa to explore opportunities available in Egypt as a gateway for investment and export to Africa.
