The General Authority for Investment and Free Zones - GAFI, in cooperation with the Egyptian Agency for Partnership for Development – EAPD at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized a training program for administrative cadres in investment agencies and entities in 18 African countries.

The five-day training program, entitled “Promoting Investment Projects", introduced African cadres to mechanisms for promoting and attracting foreign direct investment, creating and operating investment opportunity maps, automating investment procedures, and increasing the efficiency of investor service centers.

GAFI's Central Administration of Training Academy hosts a number of training programs for African and Arab cadres working in the field of investment, with the aim of introducing the Egyptian experience in attracting investment. Egypt's experience is of major importance as it is the main destination of foreign direct investment inflows on the African continent. The training complies with the investment agreements and memorandums of understanding that GAFI signed with African countries to build African competencies capable of creating the investment climate, and expanding investment partnerships between Egypt and the rest of the countries of the continent.

The training program included representatives of the countries of Congo Brazzaville, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Cameroon, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Guinea Conakry, Comoros, Somalia, Mauritania, Liberia, Kenya, Ghana, Gabon, Namibia, Senegal, Mozambique, and Chad.
