Signing an MoU between GAFI in Egypt and PAIH in Poland towards strengthening bilateral investment relations

In the presence of the President of Poland and the Prime Minister:

Signing an MoU between GAFI in Egypt and PAIH in Poland towards strengthening
bilateral investment relations
On the sidelines of the Egyptian-Polish Economic Forum, President Andrzej Duda,
President of the Republic of Poland, and Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, attended
the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the General Authority
for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Polish
Investment and Trade Agency (PAIH) of the Republic of Poland to enhance bilateral
investment relations.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Zdzislaw Sokal, Advisor to the President of the Republic of
Poland, PAIH Vice-President, and Counselor Mohamed Abdel-Wahab, GAFI CEO.
Counselor Abdel Wahab stated that the signing of the current MoU comes from GAFI and
PAIH belief, in the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Republic of Poland respectively, in the
importance of strengthening bilateral relations and developing mutual cooperation in the
field of investment between the two countries. The MoU establishes a practical framework
to enhance bilateral cooperation, exchange experiences and enhance the business climate,
in a manner that contributes in implementing the sustainable development goals in both
countries, taking into account the applicable national laws and regulations, and procedures
governing the work environment in the agencies in both Egypt and Poland.
GAFI CEO explained that under the MoU, the two sides will encourage mutual investments
and setting up joint investment projects, as well as the exchange of delegations and visits of
businessmen in order to identify the best practices and experience of each party in the field
of investment promotion. In addition, the two sides will jointly organize conferences and
seminars to promote investment in both countries, and they will organize consensual
meetings between businessmen and companies for enhancing communication between both
sides.
In accordance with the MoU, expertise and technical knowledge will be exchanged between
the two parties to benefit from the experience achieved by each party through organizing
training programs, workshops, seminars and forums, as well as exchanging experts to
provide their advisory services within the framework of specific projects and programs in
several areas, including services provided to investors, the one-stop-shop, the investment
maps, investment promotion activities, Investment Zones, and ways of settling investment
disputes.​
