Cooperation Protocol between the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones and the President of Port Said University to Train and Qualify University Students and Graduates

Dr. Mohamed Awad, GAFI CEO, and Dr. Sherif Youssef Saleh, President of Port Said University, signed a Cooperation Protocol on training and qualifying university students and graduates to actively participate in Egypt's investment environment. The signing took place on the sidelines of their participation in the second round of the “Egypt Takes Off through Exports” Initiative, hosted by Port Said University under the auspices of Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister, and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, and Major General Ibrahim Abou Limoun, Governor of Port Said.
The two sides agreed to cooperate on building and developing the capacities of GAFI staff and providing specialized academic and professional programs, including diplomas, Master's degrees, and PhDs, in investment-related fields, thereby contributing to enhancing and developing the efficiency of GAFI's human resources.
The Protocol provides for the joint organization of workshops and awareness-raising seminars covering all areas related to investment, as well as engaging GAFI experts in supervising Master's and PhD theses at the University. It will also enable the University's students and faculty members to undertake joint research projects in the field of investment. In addition, Port Said University will provide GAFI with the technical and academic consultancy services it requires.
Dr. Mohamed Awad said that the Protocol will provide a sustainable framework for bridging academic research and the requirements of the investment environment. It will also create a conducive environment for fostering a new generation of entrepreneurs at Port Said University, who will receive training, prior to graduation, on fulfilling the legislative, procedural, and economic requirements for establishing companies and ensuring business continuity. They will also be introduced to the financing and regulatory institutions relevant to their future activities.
