GAFI Discusses with ELSEWEDY ELECTROMETER Strategies to Address Challenges, Explore Opportunities, and Promote Investment

Eng. Mohamed El-Gawsaky, GAFI CEO, held a meeting with Eng. Emad ElSewedy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Elswedy Electrometer, in the presence of Engineer Mohamed Shawky, Head of Electrical Design Section, and Mr. Hisham Shaker, Group Costing and Stock Control Manager, to discuss ways to meet challenges, enhance joint cooperation, and support the company's expansion plans within the Egyptian market.

 

Also present from the General Authority for Free Investment were Mr. Yasser Abbas, GAFI CEO Deputy, Eng. Essam Bahiri, Head of the Free Zones Sector, and Mr. Ayman ElSheraie, Head of the Central Department for Free Zones.

 

The meeting addressed the expansion opportunities available to the company, in order to achieve a balance between exporting to foreign markets and the local market, in addition to discussing the possibility of expansion through the domestic investment system, which would contribute to meeting the needs of the Egyptian market, supporting local industries, and deepening national manufacturing.

 

During the meeting, Eng. Mohamed El-Gawsaky said that the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones is working to support local investments and seeks to solve any challenges that investors may face. He noted that within the framework of the Egyptian government's priorities, represented by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade and GAFI, efforts are being done to support Egyptian investments and achieve the highest levels of transparency for investors, thereby enhancing confidence in the investment climate and achieves a balance between attracting investments and protecting the national economy.

 

For his part, Eng. Emad ElSewedy stated that 2026 is a year of growth for Elsewedy Electrometer, a leading company in the field of manufacturing meters solutions and services. The company specializes in producing smart and conventional electricity meters, water and gas meters, in addition to providing integrated solutions for smart infrastructure and network management systems. He explained that the company has already begun exporting to European markets, particularly the Czech Republic and Spain, despite the differences between European and African standards. The company has successfully met the required standards and achieved export success from free zones to Europe, reflecting the competitiveness of Egyptian industry.

 

This meeting comes within the framework of GAFI strategy to enhance partnership with the private sector, support industrial expansion plans, and maximize the role of free zones in increasing exports and creating new job opportunities, in line with the sustainable development plan “Egypt Vision 2030".
