GAFI CEO Reviews New Strategic Plan and Institutional Performance Development Framework

Dr. Mohamed Awad: Developing the institutional planning and monitoring framework supports performance efficiency and investment attraction.

Dr. Mohamed Awad, Chief Executive Officer of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), held a meeting with the leadership of GAFI's Central Department for Strategy to review the implementation rates of the current strategic plan and discuss the preparation of the new plan for the period 2026–2030. The meeting comes within the framework of the directives of Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, to develop the institutional performance framework and enhance the efficiency of strategic monitoring.

GAFI CEO emphasized the importance of integration between operational and strategic plans and aligning GAFI's objectives with the Government Action Program, the National Narrative for Economic Development, and the strategy of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, in a manner that contributes to improving performance efficiency and enhancing the quality of decision-making.

He directed the swift completion of updating and drafting the new strategic plan in accordance with a participatory approach that takes national priorities into account, while also developing the performance indicators framework to measure outcomes and impact. This will be accompanied by strengthening digital transformation through the launch of a digital platform and real-time dashboards to monitor performance indicators and link them to the national system for monitoring national strategies affiliated with the Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center (IDSC).

Dr. Awad noted that developing the strategic planning and institutional follow-up framework represents a key pillar for enhancing institutional performance efficiency and strengthening GAFI's ability to attract investments and improve the business environment, in line with the state's direction toward building a more competitive and sustainable economy.
