GAFI CEO, Counselor Mohamed Abdel Wahab, participated in the Egyptian-Saudi
Business Council session held today in the presence of Dr. Majid al-Qasabi, Saudi
Minister of Commerce; Eng. Khaled al-Falih, Saudi Minister of Investment; Mr.
Bandar bin Mohammed al-Amri, Chairman of the Egyptian-Saudi Business Council on
the Saudi side; and Mr. Abdel Hamid Abu Musa, Chairman of the Egyptian-Saudi
Business Council on the Egyptian side.
Abdel Wahab elaborated on the latest developments in the investment environment
in Egypt detailing the measures taken by the Government of Egypt to provide a more
favorable business environment. These measures include without limitation
legislative and structural reforms granting the private sector greater empowerment.
Moreover, GAFI CEO stressed that the Prime Minister directed that all hurdles in the
way of Saudi investments be expediently removed and that the business environment
be prepared for receiving new Saudi investments aimed at seizing the available
opportunities in Egypt.
Abdel Wahab also gave a presentation on the most important opportunities available
on Egypt's Investment Map as well as on the facilitation of the administrative
procedures investors have to go through in order to acquire real estate utilized in
their industrial and service activities.
In addition, GAFI CEO expressed his confidence that the Egyptian and Saudi business
communities are more keen than ever to build stronger investment relations for the
benefit of the two brotherly countries, especially in light of the recent changes in the
global economy.
